The Jacket

The XTM Emmery is a solid insulated ski jacket built for women who want real waterproof protection without a premium price tag. It runs a women's ski and snowboard jacket that earns its place: 15,000mm waterproof rating, 15,000 g/m² breathability, and critically taped seams. Wet, heavy snow? It sheds it. You're dry from both directions — water can't get in, and sweat vapor can move out.

The shell is 100% recycled stretch oxford with a PFAS-free DWR finish. The DWR is the coating that makes water bead and roll off rather than soak into the face fabric. No PFAS means it skips the chemicals that the industry has been phasing out — a better outcome for watersheds and your gear's end-of-life. This jacket is also a certified carbon neutral product, which XTM backs with offsets and lifecycle accounting, not just labeling.

Insulation is 80 g/sqm through the body and 60 g/sqm through the sleeves. That's a warm-day, active warmth level — plenty for a cold chair ride or a full day in variable conditions, but not a deep-cold expedition jacket. The stretch fabric does real work here: you get full arm movement without fighting the shell on every pole plant.

What We Like

The pocket layout is thought out. Hand warmers where they need to be, a hidden chest pocket under the CF placket with velcro closure for your phone, a zippered ski pass pocket so you're not digging around at the lift, and an internal velcro pocket for a goggle lens or a snack. The adjustable helmet-compatible hood has a velcro adjuster — pull it snug over a helmet without the hood flopping forward into your goggles.

At $189.99, this is a jacket that asks you to make one small trade-off: it doesn't have pit zips. If you run warm, you'll rely on the breathability of the membrane to regulate, and 15K breathability handles most days well. But if you regularly overheat on sustained runs, you might want to look at a shell option instead. For the skier who doesn't push into that zone, the Emmery does everything right.

Fit & Sizing

The Emmery runs in a regular women's fit — not boxy, not race-tight. It's meant to layer over a midlayer without squeezing your arms on a pole plant. If you're between sizes and you like to layer heavy underneath, size up. If you ski in just a base layer and a fleece, your normal size will work.
