The Piece

The Spyder Vivid 1/2 Zip is a fitted stretch midlayer built for wearing under a shell or on its own between runs. It's 83% recycled polyester and 17% elastane in a peached stretch double knit — soft against your skin, plenty of stretch, and moisture-wicking so you're not cold and damp when you peel your jacket off at lunch. UPF 50+ is built in, which matters more in spring when the sun's reflecting off the snow. 

What We Like

We stock a lot of midlayers and this one punches above its price. The peached finish is noticeably softer than plain polyester fleece, and the YKK® reverse coil zipper lets you vent without getting the pull tab caught on your base layer. The fitted cut stays tucked under a ski jacket instead of bunching up. One honest trade-off: it's a light layer, not a warm one. If you run cold, plan to wear it over a proper base layer rather than relying on it alone on the coldest days. It's also women's sportswear that actually pulls double duty — this is the kind of piece that goes from the car to the lift to après without looking out of place.
