The Glove
Cold little hands kill a good snow day fast. The Spyder Cubby is what you put on a toddler before you head out — a real ski mitten built for kids, not a fashion accessory. Browse our full selection of kids gloves and mittens if you want to see the whole lineup, but for the youngest crew this is the one we reach for most.
The shell is Spyder's EXO SHIELD fabric — a stretch recycled polyester plain weave with a 10K/10K laminate and a PFC-free DWR finish. That's 10,000mm of waterproofing paired with 10,000g breathability, and it's built without PFAS chemicals. Under it sits an EXO SHIELD waterproof/breathable insert, so water isn't sneaking through the seams. Inside that is 100 grams of PrimaLoft® Silver ECO insulation — enough to keep small fingers warm through a full morning out without cooking them on a milder day. The lining is 100% polyester micro fleece, soft against skin and quick to warm up.
The details are where the Cubby earns its keep with parents. There's a zippered heat pack pocket if temps really drop. A PU Flock nose-wipe on the back of the thumb — yes, it's there on purpose. Conductive fingertip material so they can poke at your phone. An over-the-cuff gauntlet with a single-handed drawcord keeps snow from packing in at the wrist, and the pre-curved articulated fit means they're not fighting the mitten to grip a pole or a sled handle.
Why Willi's
We've been fitting families for the mountain since 1970, with three locations in the Pittsburgh area so you're never far from hands-on help. Stop in with your little one and we'll make sure the size is right before you leave the store — a mitten that's too big comes off in the lift line and a mitten that's too small won't close. That's exactly the kind of thing we catch in person.
