The Jacket

The Spyder Kids Leader has been a go-to junior ski jacket for years, and the 2027 version keeps everything that made it work. It's built on EXO SHIELD 10K stretch recycled polyester with a 10K/10K laminate and DWR finish, so a wet chairlift or a surprise storm doesn't soak through. Seams are critically taped. The 120g EXO Thermo insulation keeps kids warm through full days without the puffy, move-around-in-a-mattress feel. It's a capable, no-fuss ski jacket at $219.

The "Small to Tall" gusseted cuffs are the detail parents notice most. They extend up to 1½ inches, which buys you a full extra season before the jacket feels short. The removable, helmet-compatible hood has an inner gaiter so there's no gap between the helmet and collar. Fixed powder skirt with snaps and gripper elastic means it stays tucked even when a kid takes a tumble. Interior stretch cuffs have thumb holes. It's set up right for a day on the mountain.

What we like

We sell a lot of these. The grow-with-them cuffs are a genuine feature, not a gimmick — kids really do get another season out of it. The hood fits cleanly over a helmet without bunching, the powder skirt actually stays put, and the whole jacket moves well.
