Description
Description
The Salomon District is the entry point into Salomon's Shadow Fit platform. Men's snowboard bindings cover a huge range — from ultra-stiff hardware to floppy beginner setups — and the District lands in a comfortable middle ground: medium flex, asymmetrical geometry, and a baseplate that lets your boot move the way it wants to. It's built for park riders and all-mountain cruisers who want feel over force.
The Shadow Fit baseplate is the headline. That 3-piece construction with a soft heel cup lets the binding flex with your boot rather than fighting it, so you're not battling dead spots when you're pressing or loading an ollie. Kevlar Quickwire runs the energy from heel to toe, keeping edge-to-edge response snappy without stiffening the whole chassis. The baseplate here uses a 30% fiberglass nylon composite — softer and lighter than the 45% version in the District Pro, which is a real difference you'll feel if you ride back to back. That softness makes the District forgiving and playful. It's not the binding for someone who charges hard and wants instant return.
The District 2 highback comes in at a 12° pre-rotated shape, so it sits naturally against your leg without torquing your ankle. Two-in-one forward lean adjustment lets you dial flex and stance angle in a single move — no digging around with two tools. The Asym Shadow ankle strap is mold-injected and asymmetrical, which keeps it light and comfortable across a full day without dead spots on the outside edge. The Supreme Lite toe strap finishes the package. Full EVA front and rear pads round out the cushioning underfoot.
Who It's For
Intermediate to advanced riders who spend most of their time on groomers and park features, and want a binding that has some personality without punishing mistakes. The District's medium flex rewards the rider who likes to press, spin, and flow rather than charge steep lines with maximum aggression. If you're an advanced rider who laps steep pitches and wants an aggressive, stiff return, the District Pro is the better call. But for the rider building park skills, cruising groomers, and keeping things fun, this is a natural fit.
It's a unisex-geometry binding listed under men's sizing. It comes in Medium and Large here at Willi's. Medium covers US Men's boot sizes 7.5 to 10.5. Large covers US Men's 10 to 13.5. Bring your boots in and we'll match the size to your actual boot, because a half-size difference can put you at the edge of a range.
Tech That Matters
Shadow Fit Baseplate: A 3-piece anatomical baseplate with a soft heel cup. It flexes with your boot instead of clamping against it, which keeps pressure off your heel and gives you a more natural feel underfoot all day. Kevlar Quickwire reinforces the energy path from heel to toe without stiffening the flex.
30% Fiberglass Nylon Composite: The chassis material is lighter and softer than the Pro's 45% version. That means more playfulness and forgiveness, and a little less snap on aggressive edge transitions.
District 2 Asymmetrical Highback: The 12° pre-rotated shape follows your natural leg position. The 2-in-1 adjustment handles forward lean and stance in one system rather than two.
Asym Shadow Ankle Strap: Mold-injected, asymmetrical. It's light, wraps the ankle without pressure points, and lets you move freely on the board without losing the hold where you need it.
Tool-Free Adjustable Toe Ramp: Dial in your toe position without a screwdriver. Quick, straightforward, done at the lift.
Universal Disc: Compatible with standard 4x4 and 2x4 mounting patterns, and Unite Disc compatible for Burton Channel boards. Bring your board in and we'll confirm the fit before you leave the shop.
Why Willi's
We've been setting up snowboarders in Pittsburgh since the 90's, and the District is one we stock and recommend because we've seen it work well for a lot of riders. Come into any of our three locations and we'll mount these up on your board and make sure the fit is dialed before you walk out. Our shop at Seven Springs is right there if you want to test them on snow the same day.
