The Snowboard
The Salomon Bliss is a women's all-mountain board with a genuine freeride shape — tapered directional, setback stance, wider nose than tail. It's built for riders who want to move off the groomer and start exploring, without needing a stiff, demanding board to do it. Flex is medium — a 5 on a 10-point scale. Forgiving enough that a beginner isn't fighting it, but there's real pop and follow-through when you want to push harder. It sits right in that progression-friendly zone where most riders spend their best seasons.
Who it's For
Beginner to intermediate women riders who are past the purely-on-the-groomer stage and want a board that goes with them when they start poking into softer snow and variable terrain. The tapered directional shape makes turn entry feel intuitive, and the 20mm setback helps keep the nose up in crud without any real technique required. If you're a strong advanced rider looking for a dedicated freeride or all-mountain charger, the Bliss will feel a touch soft. But for anyone building skills and confidence across the whole mountain, it's a good fit.
Tech that Matters
Cross Profile puts camber underfoot and rocker at the tip and tail. The camber section gives you edge hold and snap when you're on hardpack. The rocker at each end makes it easier to release out of turns and adds float when the snow gets soft.
Quadratic Sidecut blends elliptic curves rather than a single radius. In practice it means turn initiation feels gradual rather than grabby, and edge-to-edge transitions flow smoothly.
Aspen Strong core with Popster construction — the Aspen wood is CNC-selected for density at the insert and rail zones, so the board takes impact without going soft over time. Popster mills the core inside the insert packs so it flexes more naturally underfoot and still sends energy into the tip and tail for pop.
Royal Cork Pads line the sidewalls. Cork absorbs chatter better than standard ABS alone, so the board feels smoother on variable snow. Women's snowboard bindings pair up with the standard 4x2 insert layout — bring your setup in and we'll get the stance dialed.
BIAX LD fiberglass wraps the core in a lighter layup that keeps the board responsive without adding stiffness. Extruded EG base with a medium stone finish and natural wax — lower maintenance than sintered, holds a tune without demanding constant attention.
Why Willi's
We've been fitting women into gear at our three Pittsburgh-area stores since 1970 — we know the difference between a board that sounds good on paper and one that actually rides well for your level and style. Stop in and we'll match you to the right length, check binding compatibility, and tune the board before it leaves the shop.
