The Boot

Getting into a four-buckle ski boot has never been anyone's favourite part of the day. The Rossignol ski boot lineup includes plenty of traditional overlap boots, but the Vizion 4B 100 Pro MV GW is doing something genuinely different. The cuff reclines rearward through a spoiler and spine mechanism, the shell opens wide at the back, and your foot slides in.

Once you're locked in, it skis like a proper four-buckle boot. The overlap shell structure keeps the traditional last geometry — snug at the heel and ankle, supportive through the cuff — so nothing is traded away for the easy entry. You get real alpine performance, just without the ten-minute struggle before you get there.

Who it's For

This boot fits intermediate to advancing skiers with a medium-volume foot. The 100mm last has room across the forefoot without going sloppy at the heel and ankle, which is the right balance for an average foot shape. It's not a wide boot — skiers with a genuinely wide foot or high instep may need to look at the High Volume version. But for a typical medium foot, the 100mm last holds things where you need them.

The 100 flex sits right in the middle. A strong intermediate or a recreational advanced skier will have enough boot underneath them all day on groomers. Someone pushing hard on steep, firm snow will probably want more cuff. But if groomers, blue-black terrain, and the occasional variable condition is your day, the 100 is honest, balanced, and plenty of boot.

Skiers who have wide feet or a very high-volume instep will fit better in the HV version of this boot — bring your foot in and our boot fitting team will help figure out what you need.

Flex & Fit

The 100 flex is what Rossignol calls a medium flex — it'll move with you at moderate speeds and give you feedback without punishing a skier who isn't driving through the boot all day. The Dual Core Construction layers two densities through the shell, which means the boot rebounds through turns and doesn't go dead after a few hours of skiing.

The Step-In Vizion Liner uses elasticated zones to follow the cuff as it tilts back for entry. It's thermoformable and pre-shaped, so it wraps the foot from the first run and can be heat-molded for a closer fit. Forefoot Thinsulate Stretch keeps toes warm without adding bulk. The 40mm powerstrap sits high on the cuff for solid lower-leg support, and there's both cuff and cant adjustment if you need to dial the alignment.

Tech that Matters

Step-In Technology: The spine mechanism releases the cuff rearward on a wide hinge. The Double-Buckle at the top of the cuff flips forward to lock the system closed when you're ready to ski. It's the same locked-in feel as a standard overlap boot once the buckles are set — the entry system doesn't change how the boot performs.

Dual Core Construction: Two densities of shell material work together — a harder outer for power transfer and a softer inner layer for rebound. The result is a shell that pushes energy into your ski without feeling wooden underfoot.

GripWalk Sole (ISO 23223): The rubber-soled GripWalk standard gives you real traction walking on ice or lodge floors. Confirm your binding compatibility before you mount — GripWalk soles require GripWalk-compatible bindings. Bring your skis to any of our three locations and we'll sort the fitment out.

Why Willi's

We've been fitting ski boots in the Pittsburgh area since 1970, and a boot with this much going on at the entry system deserves a proper fitting — not a guess on your mondo size from a chart. Come in, bring your ski socks, and we'll check the volume, the flex, and whether the liner needs heat-molding before you head to the mountain. Three locations, and our team at the Seven Springs shop is right on the hill if something needs a tweak mid-season.
