The Snowboard
The Rossignol Resurgence is a directional all-mountain freestyle board built for riders who want to go everywhere on the hill without committing to a specialist plank. Flex rating is 5 out of 10, which means it bends predictably under your feet without going noodle-soft or punishingly stiff.
The core is Wood CBF1: a single species of wood laminated with Basalt and Kevlar fibers right through the center. That combination damps out chatter on rough snow and puts punch back into the pop when you want it. The base is Sintered 4400, which holds wax well and stays fast across a full day of riding.
Who it's For
This board suits a solid intermediate to an advancing rider who spends most of their day on groomers and natural terrain — someone who's got their turns sorted and wants a board that rewards going a bit faster and a bit harder. At 5/10 flex, it's not going to demand expert-level input, but a true beginner will outgrow it quickly once they start pushing it. If you want to spend 90% of your time in the park on rails and jibs, a softer twin tip fits that better. The Resurgence is for the rider who hits the park occasionally but mostly just charges the whole mountain.
Rossignol's suggested weight range is 110–175 lbs (50–80 kg). Bigger riders or those in bigger boots — over a size 10.5 in most brands — should look at the Wide version instead.
Tech that matters
AmpTek All-Mountain Rocker is Rossignol's 50/50 camber-to-rocker blend. Camber sits between your feet for real edge grip and pop. Rocker runs out to the tip and tail, softening the catch points and adding float in deeper snow. It's the profile that actually delivers on "do everything" without lying about it.
5S Serrated Edges put five points of edge contact across the board — one between the inserts and two on each side — reaching parts of the edge that a standard rail misses. The result is grip that feels planted rather than aggressive, which matters when snow firms up mid-morning.
RadCut sidecut blends a traditional sidecut between the inserts with reverse sidecuts toward the tip and tail. At slow speeds, the board steers easily. Push the edge angle up, and more sidecut engages — you get full-rail grip without needing to force it.
Directional All-Mountain flex runs stiffer through the rear foot and waist and eases up slightly under the front foot. That stiffness progression keeps the board tracking straight at speed while the softer nose smooths out the entry of each turn.
And the Wood CBF1 core is built from 100% sustainably harvested forest stock — Rossignol publishes this, not just prints it on the sidewall.
Why Willi's
We've been fitting riders for snowboard boots and matching them to the right board across three Pittsburgh-area locations. If you're not sure whether the Resurgence or the Wide version is the call for your boot size, bring your boots in and we'll sort it out. We tune boards in-house too, so you're not chasing a fresh wax job somewhere else before the season starts.
