The Snowboard
The Rossignol Jibfluence is a true-twin freestyle board built directly off the Jibsaw shape — same geometry, same intent, just scaled and tuned for lighter riders who aren't ready to put a 6/10-flex adult park board underfoot. And for 2027, it got a real upgrade. The junior snowboard line at Rossignol now runs the AmpTek All-Mountain profile on the Jibfluence, which shifts the board from a rocker-heavy, wash-it-out ride to a proper 50/50 rocker-camber split. That means real pop off your tail, real edge grip through a carve, and the same catch-free tip and tail for switch landings and sloppy park entries. It's a meaningful step up from the old model.
Who it's For
This board fits a beginner-to-intermediate junior rider who's ready to stop riding rental gear and wants something they can actually grow into. The 4/10 flex is soft enough for a kid still figuring out edge control but has enough backbone to pop off a lip or press a box. A lighter adult rider — say under 120 lbs — can ride it too, but an adult who charges hard will overpower the flex quickly. The true twin shape and centered stance make it equally set up in both directions, so it's solid for riders who are starting to learn switch.
It's not a one-trick park board. The AmpTek All-Mountain profile handles groomer laps on a weekday just fine, and the RadCut geometry keeps it from feeling stiff and demanding when the rider just wants to cruise. Grab a pair of junior snowboard boots and a binding while you're here — we'll make sure everything goes together correctly before you walk out.
Tech That Matters
AmpTek All-Mountain (50/50 Rocker-Camber): 50% camber underfoot gives the board real pop and edge grip. 50% rocker at tip and tail keeps landings catch-free and switch riding forgiving. New for 2027 on the Jibfluence.
RadCut Sidecut: Traditional sidecut between the inserts, reverse sidecut at the extremities. Playful at low speed, fuller grip as edge angle increases. Lets a developing rider feel the difference between a skidded turn and a real carve.
3S Serrated Edges: Three smaller edge contact points spaced along the running length. More bite on hard snow than a standard edge, without the aggressive lock-in of a freeride setup.
Wood 4515 Core: Thinner, lighter build than the adult Jibsaw core — keeps the flex matched to a junior rider's weight without going dead or boardy.
Extruded 4400 Base: Durable and easy to maintain. Slower than sintered on race day, but perfectly capable for park and all-mountain riding. Wax it when it looks dry and it'll perform well all season.
Why Willi's
We've been fitting kids since 1970, and we carry the full junior setup — boots, bindings, and boards — across all three of our Pittsburgh-area locations. Bring your kid in and we'll get them matched up properly, not just sized by height. We also offer tuning services, so when that extruded base needs a fresh wax mid-season, we've got you covered.
