The Jacket
The Strawpile brings back a clean, classic ski silhouette and backs it up with real cold-weather engineering underneath. It's Rossignol's take on an all-day resort jacket - tailored through the body, cut looser through the arms, built to get you through a full day of chairlifts and cold mornings without you giving it a second thought.
What We Like
Rossignol didn't just pack insulation everywhere and call it a day. They put more fill in the core, where you lose heat, and backed off in the sleeves so your arms stay mobile instead of stiff. The powder skirt keeps snow out on a tumble, the dedicated pass pocket means you're not digging through zippers at the lift line, and the adjustable cuffs cinch down when the wind kicks up.
Tech That Matters
20,000mm / 15,000g waterproof-breathable membrane - keeps you dry in steady snow while letting body heat and moisture escape instead of trapping it.
140g core / 100g sleeve insulation - warmer where you need it most, lighter where you need to move.
Critical sealed seams - main seams are taped to block wind and moisture from sneaking in at the stitching.
Classic tailored fit - a flattering cut inspired by sport ski style, not a boxy shell.
Fit & Sizing
This one runs true to a classic, tailored cut - not baggy, not race-tight. If you plan to layer a midweight fleece underneath on the coldest days, size up. If you mostly run warm or want a cleaner silhouette, stick with your usual size. Come try it on with your typical base layer so we can check through-the-shoulder mobility before you buy.
Why Willis
We've been fitting Pittsburgh skiers since 1970, and jackets are one of those things that look right on the hanger and feel completely wrong on the hill - so we'd rather you try it on. Stop into any of our three locations and we'll help you sort sizing, layering, and whether this is the right jacket for how cold you actually ski.
