The Jacket
The Rochrun is Rossignol's answer for a woman who wants one jacket that handles a cold morning on groomers and a storm day without a second thought. It's insulated, it's genuinely waterproof, and it moves with you instead of fighting you on every turn.
What We Like
The stretch cuffs with thumbhole loops keep snow out of your gloves without a fussy gauntlet system, and the zip vents allow a cool breeze on a warm bluebird day. The waterproof zipper on the front closure is a nice touch - most jackets in this price range skip it. We also like that the stretch in this fabric comes from the weave itself, not from added elastane, so it holds up over a full season of hard use.
Tech That Matters
This is a 2-layer, fully seam-taped build rated 20K waterproof and rated extremely breathable, so wet snow and wind stay out while body heat has somewhere to go. PrimaLoft insulation does the warmth work here and it breathes well enough that you won't overheat pushing hard through moguls or a long cat track. The DWR finish is PFC-free, which matters if you care about what's in your gear's water repellent treatment - performance-wise it sheds moisture the way you'd expect from a durable water repellent coating.
Fit & Sizing
This jacket suits a skier who runs cold and wants warmth built in rather than added through layers - if you're usually reaching for a heavy fleece under a shell, this replaces that whole system. The regular fit gives you room to move through a full range of motion without feeling baggy, and it's cut long enough to layer with bibs comfortably.
Why Willis
We've been fitting Pittsburgh skiers since 1970, and outerwear is one of those things that's worth trying on before you buy - fit changes everything about how a jacket actually performs on snow. Stop into any of our three locations and our staff will help you find the right size and answer questions about layering underneath it. We stand behind what we sell, plain and simple.
