The Piece

The Quiksilver Alpine Button Mock is a 290 GSM polyester polar fleece mid-layer built for cold days when you need real warmth without a lot of weight. The quarter-snap mock neck is the move here. It closes up tight when you're standing around, and you can pop it open fast when you're moving and heating up. A zippered chest pocket and hand pockets keep your essentials locked down. Garment-washed with softener, so it's got that broken-in feel right out of the bag.

It's a mid-layer first, a casual piece second. It'll work under a shell on cold days, or worn alone around the lodge or on the drive up. 

What We Like

The snap placket at the neck is our favorite detail. A full zip would add bulk and catch points. The snap setup keeps the collar clean and high, and venting it is a one-handed job. The 290 GSM weight is the sweet spot for a mid-layer fleece. Warm enough to matter, not so heavy it turns into its own layer problem. And the garment wash makes a real difference. This doesn't feel stiff or synthetic off the rack.
