The Pants

The Picture Exa Pants are Picture's workhorse insulated ski pant, built on a 20K/20K membrane. That number means real waterproofing and real breathability — not just technically waterproof, but actually able to handle a long, wet day without cooking your legs underneath. The fabric is 100% circular polyester made from textile waste, and the PFC-free DWR treatment means it sheds water without the chemistry that's been getting phased out industry-wide. The Timeless Flower print keeps it sharp.

The construction is two-layer throughout. Seams are finished to keep moisture out, and the snow gaiters close with a YKK zip and snaps so powder stays where it belongs. The straight cut sits right between fitted and relaxed — comfortable over a mid-layer but not baggy enough to catch the wind.

What Sets It Apart

The thigh vents are the real-use feature here. On a warm afternoon when you're working hard, those zippered vents let you dump heat without stopping to take anything off. They open wide enough to actually matter. Combine that with the waist gaiter, and you've got a pant that handles full conditions — from a cold morning start to a slushy midday stretch.

The waistband is elastic with a webbing belt, so fit stays dialed without fussing over it run to run. The ergonomic shaping at the waist and knees means the pant moves with you rather than pulling when you bend into a turn. Bottom hem reinforcement and snap adjusters at the cuff keep things tidy over a boot.

The honest limitation: the Exa runs in sizes S through L only, so if you need XS or XL, this isn't the right cut for you this season.

Sizing

The Exa fits true to standard women's sizing. The straight cut has enough room through the hip and thigh to layer a light fleece underneath on cold days, but it's not a relaxed or cargo fit — it sits clean over a ski boot. If you're between sizes, the elastic waistband and webbing belt give you some flexibility, but go up for layering room.
