The Pullover

The Patagonia LW Synch Snap-T is the mid-layer that's been around long enough to earn its place in almost every skier's rotation. It weighs 13.2 oz, packs small, and goes over a base layer or under a shell without bunching. The 8-oz Synchilla® fleece is 100% recycled polyester, double-sided, with an anti-pilling finish, so it stays smooth after a full season of daily use. Soft against the neck. Dries fast if you work up a sweat.

The four-snap recycled nylon placket lets you vent on the fly without pulling the whole thing over your head. Stand-up collar keeps the draft off your neck. Y-Joint sleeve construction means your arms move freely whether you're reaching for a pole strap or loading a chair. Elasticized binding at the cuffs and hem traps warmth without squeezing your wrists. Hip length gives you a little extra coverage, and it layers cleanly under a men's ski or snowboard jacket without riding up.

What We Like

Grab it off a hook, snap it halfway up, and you're ready. The weight is right for a mid-mountain warm-up room or a lift line in shoulder-season temps. The anti-pilling finish is worth calling out specifically. Cheaper fleeces start looking ratty after a couple of months of friction against a shell. This one holds up. The chest pocket is a real pocket with a snap flap, big enough for a card and a lift pass.

You can crack it open one-handed in gloves. Full zippers snag, stick, or need two hands. Four snaps don't. And because the hem sits at the hip rather than the waist, it covers the gap between your pants and your base layer when you bend forward in the lift line. Small thing. Worth having.

Why Willi's

We've been fitting skiers and riders in the Pittsburgh area since 1970. Stop into any of our three locations and we can help you figure out how this layers with what you already own. If you're building a full kit from scratch, our staff knows how the pieces work together on snow.
