The Jacket

The Tuscany II is the jacket we sell to women who want one coat that handles a chairlift and a coffee run without changing out of it. It's a mid-weight insulated parka built for actual resort days, not a shell you layer six things under. Obermeyer's kept the silhouette flattering instead of boxy, and the shell's built with REPREVE, which uses recycled plastic in the fabric.

What We Like

The hood is removable and adjusts two ways, plus it's got a detachable faux-fur trim if you want the look without the bulk on a warmer day. Inside, the collar and chin area are fleece-lined, so the zipper doesn't chew up your neck on a cold lift ride. Storage is genuinely useful here - zippered handwarmer pockets, a pass pocket you can reach without unzipping the whole jacket, and separate interior spots for a phone and goggles. There's even a little goggle cloth tucked into one of the pockets, which is a small thing but one less item to hunt for in your bag.

Tech That Matters

  • Shell: HydroBlock® Sport 10K/10K waterproof, breathable laminate
  • Insulation: Synthetic fill, 150g in the body and sleeves, 40g in the hood
  • Recycled build: Constructed with REPREVE® recycled materials
  • Powder skirt: Water-resistant Snap-Away™ design, removable for town wear
  • Cuffs: Stretch inner wrist cuffs to seal out snow

That 10K/10K rating is solid for a normal day on groomers or standing around at the base lodge - it's not the number we'd point to for someone skiing all day in a windy storm. For regular resort use, it holds up fine.

Fit & Sizing

The Tuscany II runs in women's numeric sizing, 6 through 18, and it's cut with a bit of shape through the waist rather than running straight up and down. If you tend to layer a mid-weight fleece underneath on cold days, we'd size up rather than down - the insulation's warm enough on its own for most Pennsylvania winters, so a snug fit can feel tight once you add a layer. Come try it on with what you'd actually wear skiing before you order online.

Why Willis

We've been fitting Pittsburgh skiers since 1970, and jackets are one of those things that fit differently in person than they look on a screen. Stop into our shop at Seven Springs or either of our city locations and we'll get you into the right size the first time.
