The Ski

The Santa Ana 80 S is Nordica's junior version of a ski we sell a lot of to adult women, scaled down for girls who are ready to move past a rental-grade composite ski. Don’t be fooled though, this ones is ready for the real skiers out on the hill.

What Sets It Apart

An 80mm waist and a Lite Performance wood core with sidewall construction give this ski real feedback under a young skier's boots, not the dead, chattery feel of a cheap junior ski. Early rise in the tip and tail (Nordica's All-Mountain Rocker) keeps the ski forgiving in soft snow and easy to pivot, while the Energy CA build holds a line on groomers without demanding a ton of leg strength. The Marker JR 7.0 FDT bindings run DIN 2-7 on an adjustable track, so we can grow the binding with your kid for a season or two before she outgrows the boot.

Sizing

This ski is built for girls transitioning from a beginner ski into real wood-core construction, so most kids will want it standing somewhere between chin and nose height depending on how aggressive they're skiing. A newer skier does better at the shorter end, up around the chin. A kid who's already carving and looking for more edge grip should size up toward the nose.
