The Boot

Nordica built the Promachine 3 90 GW as the softest boot in the men's Promachine line. It's a 98mm narrow last for feet that swim in a standard 100-102mm shell, paired with a 90 flex that still feels active on snow without punishing a lighter or less aggressive skier.

Who It's For

This boot fits skiers with narrow, low-volume feet - a heel that locks down fast and an instep that doesn't need extra room. The 90 flex suits a progressing intermediate skier, lighter-weight adult or strong junior skier who wants some precision underfoot without a stiff race boot fighting back on every turn. Skiers pushing into expert terrain at speed, or heavier skiers who need more backbone to drive a ski hard, will find this flex too soft for that job - a stiffer Promachine model makes more sense there. For everyone else working on carving real turns and building time on snow, this flex gives feedback without wearing out your legs by early afternoon.

Flex & Fit

The 98mm last means the skier here will want a precise fit with narrow foot features pretty much throughout, and a shell that holds the foot instead of the foot sliding around inside it. A narrow-fit boot like this only works if the liner is sized right - go up a size for comfort and you lose the whole point of the narrow last. The 90 flex bends forward gradually rather than stopping hard partway through the range, so you can drive into the front of the boot and feel it respond instead of hitting a wall.

Tech That Matters

3Force Frame technology pairs a rigid spine running down the back of the boot with a softer plastic wrap around the rest of the shell - the stiff spine handles power transmission to the ski while the softer sections make the boot easier to step into and flex through a run. GripWalk soles are rockered and DIN-standard, which means a more natural walking stride from the parking lot to the lift and better grip on wet pavement or icy steps than a flat alpine sole gives you.

Why Willis

We've been fitting boots out of Pittsburgh since 1970, and a narrow-fit boot like this is exactly the kind of thing that needs a real in-person fitting, not a guess off a size chart. Stop into any of our three locations and we'll check your foot shape and flex needs and get you into a shell that actually matches your foot, not just your shoe size.
