The Boot

The Nidecker Altai is a men's boot built for riders who like their turns clean and their footwork precise. Nidecker shaped the upper asymmetrically to cut down on pressure points around the ankle.

Who It's For

This is a mid-stiff boot - a 3 out of 5 on the flex scale - built for intermediate to advanced riders who already know how to load a turn and want the boot to hold up its end of the deal.It's happiest carving groomers and picking lines through natural terrain, with enough give left over to handle a jump or a box without feeling like a plank. Riders still working on their basics will find the flex demands more from the ankle than a soft beginner boot gives back - this one wants input, not a passenger. If you're chasing quick edge-to-edge turns and forest lines more than rail tricks, the Altai fits that riding style well.

Tech That Matters

Dual H5 BOA Coiler Dials - independent micro-adjustment for the upper and lower zones, in both directions, so you can dial in fit changes mid-run without stopping to re-lace. The side Boa tighens the external heel lock on either side of the ankle to minimize heel lift.

External Heel Lock - built-in wings on either side of the ankle tighten in tandem with the tongue BOA dial to shut down heel lift, which matters most on hard landings and quick direction changes.

Ascent 2.0 Outsole - cushioned underfoot with better traction for hiking over ice and rock, and improved compatibility with Supermatic-style bindings for a quicker step-in.

3D Pro Insole + Silver Liner - the insole and the heat-moldable Silver Liner feel good right out of the box, with a Custom Flex Zone at the toes, 8mm PE foam, and added PU support around the foot. A separate cuff connected to the shell keeps entry easy, and touch fasteners on the tongue lock the fit in place.

Sizing

The Altai runs true to standard men's snowboard boot sizing - true to Mondopoint, not a boot that runs big or small on you. Bring your usual shoe size as a starting point and expect a snug fit out of the box that loosens slightly once the liner packs out and molds to your foot. If you're between sizes, size down for a more locked-in, responsive feel.
