The Binding

The Marker Griffon X 13 is now the standard in Marker's freeride and freestyle lineup, now rebuilt from the ground up with a lower platform that puts you closer to your ski than any previous Griffon. Stand height without the ski is just 14 mm. Edge-to-edge response is quicker, power transfer is more direct, and you stop feeling like there's a platform between you and the snow. Skiers who like a lot of ski feel will ove this improvement over the out-going Griffon. Griffon X 13 is built for skiers who want a lively, fun binding — one that rewards a playful style on groomers, in the park, and in open freeride terrain. The OG Griffon is still available in the MNC version as well.

What We Like

The DIN 4.0–13.0 range makes this binding genuinely broad. It fits a strong intermediate up through an aggressive expert without compromise. The Inter Pivot X heel uses an ultra-compact metal frame to keep the construction short, and that short heel-to-toe footprint translates to a tighter turn radius when the ski is engaged on edge. Combine that with the Triple Pivot Elite X toe, which gives upward release, lateral release, and solid power transmission in one compact housing, and you have a binding that's doing a lot of work quietly.

The Anti Ice Rail runs along the binding body and stiffens the lateral power path while also making it easier to knock ice off your boot before stepping in. On a cold morning when your boot soles are frozen, that matters. Step-in is smooth thanks to TwinCam technology in the heel, which reduces the force you need to get your heel home.

Compatibility

The Griffon X 13 fits Alpine adult boot soles (ISO 5355 A) and GripWalk adult soles (ISO 23223 A) — sole length 240 mm to 370 mm. Beyond that, brake width and mount pattern need to match your ski, and those calls depend on the actual hardware in front of us.
