The Binding
The Marker Griffon X 13 MWerks is a low-stack freeride binding built for advanced and expert skiers who want every watt of energy going straight into the ski. The big story is the stand height. By integrating the brake directly into the heel plate, Marker cut the stack down to 14mm overall — 9mm at the toe — which is a significant drop from where the previous generation sat. That's not just a number. You feel it: the ski is more alive underfoot, turns load up faster, and edge-to-edge response is noticeably more direct.
The MWerks designation means you're getting the X Series architecture in the Pink Graphite colorway, and Marker chose that label carefully — it's the same hardware family as the Jester X MWerks, just tuned for lighter, advanced-to-expert riders with a DIN ceiling of 13. If you're chasing the Jester's 16-DIN ceiling, that's the next step up. But for most expert skiers under roughly 200 lbs who aren't racing gates, the Griffon X 13 MWerks is the right call.
What Sets It Apart
The Triple Pivot Elite X toe is the highlight. Marker molded it in a single cast instead of a multi-piece assembly. The result is a housing that's lighter, stiffer, and measurably more compact than the older Griffon. The Anti-Ice Rail — redesigned with a new alloy — lets you scrape snow and ice off your boot sole without tearing up the toepiece. It actually works, and it's something you'll use every cold morning.
The Inter Pivot X heel is what makes the 14mm stand height possible. The metal frame's short construction pulls the brake up and into the binding rather than hanging below it. That same compact frame also tightens the turn radius: less binding hanging off the tail means the ski can flex and snap the way it was built to.
Multinorm compatibility is baked in via a height-adjustable gliding plate. It handles Alpine soles (ISO 5355) and GripWalk soles (ISO 23223) — adjust the Pozi screw at the toe and you're set. The stainless steel AFD releases cleanly regardless of snow conditions or sole type.
One honest note: DIN 4–13 is the ceiling here, and this binding is sized for lighter expert skiers. Bigger, heavier, or more aggressive skiers who need DIN settings consistently above 12 should look at the Jester X MWerks instead. Bring your boot and we'll set it right at any of our three locations.
Compatibility
The Griffon X 13 MWerks fits Alpine Adult soles (ISO 5355) and GripWalk Adult soles (ISO 23223). Boot sole range is 240mm–370mm. We carry brake widths of 90mm and 105mm here at Willi's. Bring your skis in and we'll match the brake width to your ski and mount them properly — fitment is not a guess-and-ship situation.
We mount and tune skis in-house at all three locations. If you're buying the Griffon X MWerks to go with a new pair of skis, we can sort out the full package in one visit.
