The Piece

The Krimson Klover Robin Full Zip is a boxy, après-ready sweater with real character. It's 22" long, hits at the hip, and the semi-worsted wool blend gives it that warm, slightly rustic texture you actually want in a knit. Full zip up the front, shawl collar, custom embroidery detail, and a KK suede patch on the body. It comes in Oat, which is that warm cream-and-taupe color story Krimson Klover does really well. Wear it over a base layer at the mountain or over a turtleneck out to dinner. It goes both places without looking out of place at either.

The blend is acrylic, wool, and nylon. The wool does the warmth, the nylon keeps it from pilling out, and the acrylic is why you can machine wash it cold on a delicate cycle. Lay it flat to dry and you're good.

What We Like

 It layers cleanly over mid-layers without pulling, and it doesn't look sloppy on. The embroidery detail gives it a handcrafted feel that stands out against the sea of plain fleece pullovers. And the full zip matters — you can crack it open when you're warm, or close it up when the temperature drops, which a pullover can't do. Our women's sportswear section carries a lot of knits, and the Robin is one of the few that works as hard as it looks good. The limitation: it's not a technical layer and it's not waterproof at all, so it's best suited for the lodge, the car ride, or a clear, calm day.
