The Snowboard
The K2 Courier is built for getting new riders comfortable and keeping them coming back for another day on the hill. It's a directional twin, so it rides regular or switch without feeling really lopsided either way, and the whole board is tuned to make the learning curve less punishing. If you're shopping your first board or replacing a rental that held you back, this is a solid place to land.
Who It's For
This one's for riders who are new to the sport or still building basics - linking turns, learning switch, working up toward your first blue and black runs. The rocker profile sits flat underfoot between the bindings and lifts into rocker outside that zone, which makes turn initiation forgiving and keeps edges from catching when you're still figuring out pressure and balance. That same setup makes ollies and small jumps approachable instead of intimidating. Riders who've already got carving and higher-speed terrain dialed in will find the flex too soft and too forgiving to push hard - this board is built to build skill, not to charge steeps at speed.
Tech That Matters
- Extruded 2000 base - low maintenance, glides consistently, and is easy to repair when you catch a stray rock in glades.
- Aspen core - a single-species wood core that keeps flex predictable from board to board, so it stays forgiving and snappy without feeling unpredictable underfoot.
- Biax fiberglass - woven at 90-degree angles for torsional give plus the edge hold you need once you start carrying more speed.
- Catch-Free Tune - the tip and tail get a slight bevel that lifts the contact points out of the snow, cutting down on edge catches while you're still learning to link turns.
- Hybritech construction - trims excess sidewall material at the tip and tail and caps the edge in 3D, which keeps swing weight down and durability up.
Sizing
Sizing on the Courier runs by rider height and weight, stop in and we'll get you dialed in. Smaller riders working on their first turns will want the 152, while taller or heavier riders pushing into more terrain should look at the 157 or 158.
Why Willis
We've been fitting Pittsburgh riders since 1970, and beginner boards like the Courier are where good fit advice matters most - too stiff or too long and progression stalls out fast. Stop into any of our three locations and we'll match the size to your height, weight, and what kind of riding you're aiming for.
