The Ski
The Mindbender 90 is K2's answer for skiers who want a ski that turns fast without feeling like work. No metal laminate in this build - just an Aspen Microblock wood core doing the work, so the swing weight stays light and the ski wants to change direction the second you ask it to. At 90mm underfoot it's built for groomers and the softer stuff off to the side.
Check out our full lineup of mens skis if you're still comparing options - this one sits toward the lighter, more playful end of the all-mountain range.
Who It's For
This ski is for intermediate to advanced skiers who want lightweight agility that doesn't sacrifice edge grip — riders who want to charge the fall line on groomers one run and pivot through tight trees or dip into a powder stash the next, all on the same setup. It's a great match for skiers who prefer a nimble, carbon-driven feel over the extra heft of a metal-laminate ski, without giving up the stability needed to ski confidently at speed.
Tech That Matters
The tech that matters here starts with Spectral Braid construction, K2's patented variable-angle fiber reinforcement that precisely tunes torsion and flex along the length of the ski. Because the fiber orientation changes strategically from tip to tail rather than staying uniform, the ski delivers real torsional control and energetic snap without the added weight of a metal laminate — the result is a predictable, confidence-inspiring ride rather than something twitchy or vague.
That's paired with the Aspen Micro Block core, made of many small stringers of aspen wood, which keeps flex consistent and delivers a smooth, damp feel through variable, choppy snow instead of a harsh, chattery ride. Hybritech sidewalls round out the construction, maximizing edge grip on hardpack so the ski holds its line even when you're pushing it hard on firm groomers.
An All-Terrain Rocker profile, with a gradual tip rise, smooths out turn initiation across mixed snow conditions, and K2's Bio-Resin — a 30% bio-content resin blend — improves cold-temperature toughness and bond strength over traditional resins. The package comes with Marker's M3 11 Compact QuikClik binding, offering tool-free DIN adjustment and full GripWalk compatibility for quick, dependable setup.
Sizing
Most skier here will be happy with the ski lining up around the nose to brow.
Skiers who like to move a little faster or ski more aggressively should size up within their range. While skiers who like to cruise and have some quickness should look to air shorter.
Why Willis
We've been fitting Pittsburgh skiers since 1970, and a system ski like this one is exactly the kind of setup we like handing over. Bring your boots in at any of our three locations and we'll get the GripWalk fit checked before you buy.
