The Piece
The Versalite Half Zip is Helly Hansen's grid fleece midlayer, built for the days you can't decide how many layers you'll actually need. The grid construction pulls moisture off your skin and dries fast.
What We Like
The grid fleece pattern traps warm air in its channels but still breathes, so it doesn't turn into a sauna the second you start moving fast. The half-zip and collar combo means you can dump heat in seconds without stopping to peel off a layer. There's a single chest pocket - nothing fancy, just useful. And the whole thing packs down small enough to live in the bottom of a pack for the days when you're not sure you'll need it.
We like it as a three-season piece as much as a winter one. Under a shell on a cold lift day, over a tee on a fall hike - same fleece, different job.
Fit & Sizing
Sizes S, M, L, and XL are in stock.
Runs true to a standard women's fit - close enough to layer under a shell without adding bulk, roomy enough to move your arms freely. If you plan to wear a heavier base layer underneath on cold days, size up one.
Why Willis
We've been building layering systems for Pittsburgh winters since 1970, and a fleece like this is the piece that makes the rest of the system work. Come into any of our three locations and we'll help you figure out what goes over it and under it, so the whole setup actually does its job on the mountain.
