The Piece
This is Helly Hansen's shell for guys who ski all day and don't want to think about their jacket while they're doing it. The HELLY TECH® Professional membrane and LIFA INFINITY™ construction handle the waterproof/breathable side of things, so wet snow and wind stay outside where they belong. What sets the Atlas Infinity apart is the H2FLOW™ system - down and PrimaLoft® Gold Cross pods placed to let air move through the jacket and vent out instead of building up under your layers. Helly Hansen hasn't put this system on a shell before, so it's new for 2027.
What We Like
The venting is the real story here. Most insulated shells make you choose between warm and clammy or vented and cold. The H2Flow pods let heat escape where you actually generate it, so you're not stripping layers on the chairlift and then freezing on the way down. PrimaLoft® Gold Cross Core insulation handles the warmth end of that trade, and it does it without the bulk you'd expect from a jacket this warm.
A few other things worth mentioning: the Life Pocket™ keeps your phone off the cold outer shell so the battery doesn't die by 11am, and the RECCO® reflector gives ski patrol a way to find you if things go sideways in the backcountry or off-piste. The hood detaches when you don't need it, and the powder skirt is stretchy and removable, so you can dial the jacket in for a bluebird groomer day or a full-on storm cycle. Multiple pockets keep goggles, snacks, whatever, organized instead of loose in your bibs.
Fit & Sizing
This one's built for experienced skiers putting in real hours on the hill, not a first-timer picking up a jacket for a couple lessons a year. The cut is athletic without being tight, made to layer a midweight fleece or vest underneath on the coldest days without feeling like a marshmallow suit. If you run warm, size true to your normal jacket size. If you tend to layer heavy or want room for a puffy underneath, size up. We carry Medium, Large, and Extra Large - come try one on and we'll help you figure out which one moves right with you.
Why Willis
We've been fitting Pittsburgh skiers since 1970, and we know a shell like this is an investment you want to get right the first time. Stop into any of our three locations and one of us will walk you through sizing, layering, and how the H2Flow venting actually works on snow before you buy.
