The Ski

The Kore 88 Ti is Head's answer for skiers who spend most of their day on groomers but don't want to feel punished the one time they duck into the trees. An 88mm waist keeps it planted on hardpack, and a Karuba-Beech wood core gives it some snap without turning into a noodle. This one leans frontside, hard, but it hasn't forgotten how to have fun off the groomed stuff.

Who It's For

This ski is for advanced to expert skiers who spend most of their days on groomers and firm, packed snow but still want a ski capable of handling bumps, trees, and the occasional off-piste detour. It's a strong fit for skiers on the East Coast who need a precise, hard-snow specialist, or Western skiers who prefer their all-mountain ski on the narrower, quicker-turning side. It's not the ski for someone who wants a soft, forgiving ride or a powder-first tool — the Kore 88 Ti rewards a clean, deliberate skiing style.

Tech That Matters

The Karuba-Beech core is the foundation - lightweight enough to keep the ski lively, dense enough to hold an edge on firm snow. Layer in dual sheets of Titanal and you get real dampening at speed. Graphene adds stiffness and strength without piling on extra weight, so the ski stays quick edge-to-edge instead of feeling like it's fighting you into the next turn. The flax-infused hybrid topsheet is a newer addition to the build - it's there for durability and a bit of vibration damping at the surface level. Put it all together and you've got a ski that charges hardpack with confidence, transitions edge-to-edge quicker than you'd expect. Still handles bumps and trees when you want to get off the groomed run for a bit.

Sizing

The ideal skier should be using this somewhere around their brow. With more timid skiers or those wanted quickness going shorter and those wanting stability or more advnced skier going taller. The 184 is for taller or more aggressive skiers who want the extra stability at higher speeds. If you ski fast and aggressive, size up within your range. If you value quickness over top-end stability, stay at the shorter end.

Why Willis

We've been fitting Pittsburgh skiers since 1970, and a ski like the Kore 88 Ti deserves a proper mount and binding setup, not a guess. Bring your boots into any of our three locations and we'll get you dialed in on length and binding placement before you ever hit the skiing trails this winter. Our techs handle the fitting - you just show up with your boots.
