The Piece

The Cinder is Burton's take on the classic snap-placket fleece, built out of 100% recycled polar fleece blocked with a nylon plainweave. The fabric sits at 255 to 258 GSM, so it's got real weight to it without turning into a sleeping bag you're wearing around.

What We Like

The center-front snap placket is the detail that sets this apart from a pullover hoodie - half-zip fleeces are everywhere, but the snap closure gives it a worn-in, flannel-jacket feel right out of the box. Two zippered hand-warmer pockets keep your hands out of the wind while you're standing around, and a zippered chest pocket with an internal media port means your phone and headphones stay put and stay dry-ish. Burton used YKK zippers throughout.Stretch binding at the cuffs, hem, and collar keeps drafts out and lets the fleece move with you instead of riding up when you reach for something.
