The Helmet
Two pieces of gear. One less thing to fuss with at the top of the lift. The Atomic Revent Visor Photo is a full ski helmet with a built-in photochromic visor — no separate goggle needed, no strap twisting, no fogging around the frame gap. Just click it down and go.
We've sold a lot of helmets over the years, and the visor category has quietly become one of our favorites for skiers who are tired of managing two separate pieces of gear.
What Sets It Apart
The defining feature is the integrated visor itself — instead of a separate goggle strap fighting your helmet for space, the visor is built directly into the shell, forming a weatherproof seal against your face and opening or closing one-handed, even with gloves on, without pinching your skin. Backing that up is HD Lens Technology, which enhances color, clarity, and contrast so you can actually use that wide field of view in changing snow and light conditions. On the safety side, AMID 360° (Atomic Multi-directional Impact Deflector) is the piece that matters most — it's designed specifically to manage rotational impact forces, which are a major factor in more serious head injuries, going beyond what a standard helmet addresses. The hybrid construction — an ABS hard shell up top for durability paired with a lighter in-mold lower section — is what lets Atomic add all this protection and integrated hardware without the helmet feeling heavy on your head over a full day. Rounding it out, the 360° Fit System and Live Fit tri-layer foam work together to mold the helmet to your specific head shape, which matters more here than on a standard helmet since a poor seal around an integrated visor would let in cold air and reduce the whole point of the design.
This isn't for you if you already own a goggle you love and rotate lenses based on conditions. Swapping a photochromic visor in the field isn't as quick as popping a magnetic goggle lens — it's more of a one-system commitment. And if you’re a freestlye skier, a traditional helmet-and-goggle setup with a strap might feel more secure to you.
Fit & Safety
The Revent Visor runs on Atomic's in-mold construction — the shell and liner are fused together, which keeps weight down without sacrificing the protection. The fit system uses a dial adjuster at the rear so you can snug it up without pulling a glove off. It's quick, it works, and it actually stays where you set it.
MIPS is not in this helmet — worth knowing if that's a checkbox for you. For many skiers, the overall fit, weight, and coverage of a well-fitting in-mold shell still does its job. But if MIPS is non-negotiable, talk to us and we'll point you in the right direction.
Sizing runs Small, Medium, and Large. Get measured before you buy — visor helmets with integrated systems are harder to exchange once you've snapped that visor up and down a few times.
Why Willi's
We've been fitting helmets and sorting out goggle problems in Pittsburgh since 1970 — we know what gear actually works in this region's variable conditions. Come into any of our pittsburgh area locations and we'll let you try the visor action yourself, and make sure the fit is dialed before you walk out.
