The Binding

The Atomic Icon 10 is a straightforward, well-built alpine racing binding that covers the middle of the ability range without a lot of fuss. No unnecessary weight, no complicated adjustment process — just a reliable heel and toe unit that does what a binding is supposed to do. We stock it for a reason.

What Sets It Apart

A DIN range topping out at 10 puts this squarely in intermediate-to-strong-intermediate territory. That's actually a good thing. A lot of skiers chase a higher DIN number when they don't need one — the Icon 10 keeps the release characteristics dialed in for skiers who are progressing and building their skiing, rather than overbuilt for a weight and speed they haven't hit yet. The release mechanism is tuned to work predictably across the range, and the heel piece has enough adjustability to fit a wide spread of boot sizes properly.

The 75mm brake covers a solid range of ski waist widths — but bring your skis in and we'll confirm the fit before you walk out the door. Getting the brake width right matters more than most people think.

One honest limitation: if you're already skiing aggressively on steep terrain at high speed and pushing the top of a DIN 10 range regularly, you'll want to look at a binding with a higher ceiling. The Icon 10 is best matched to skiers who are still building into their skiing, not those who've already built it.

Compatibility

This is the section where we pump the brakes on guessing. Boot sole standards, mount patterns, disc compatibility — these details matter and they vary. Do not assume your boot or your ski is compatible based on specs alone. Bring your boots and your board in to any of our three locations and we'll sort the fitment properly. Our staff has been doing this for over 50 years. A five-minute check saves a frustrating day on the hill.

Why Willi's

We've been fitting skiers for bindings since 1970 — and binding fitment is one of those things that genuinely requires a person who knows what they're looking at. We mount, we adjust, we check release values in-shop. Stop in at any of our three locations or swing by our shop at Seven Springs and we'll take care of you the right way.
