The Boot
The Hawx Magna 100X Boa isn't trying to reinvent the ski boot. What it does is solve a real problem — getting a medium-to-wide foot into a performance boot without spending 20 minutes wrestling with buckles in a cold parking lot. The Boa dial does the heavy lifting. One hand, a few clicks, locked in. It's genuinely that fast.
And at a 100 flex, this isn't a beginner's boot. It's got enough stiffness to ski real terrain with some authority.
Who It's For
This boot is built for all-mountain skiers with genuinely wide or high-volume feet — the kind of skier who's dealt with numbness, hot spots, or pinching in standard 100mm-last boots and needs real extra room rather than just a slightly looser fit. With a 100 flex, it's aimed at intermediate to advanced skiers of medium build who want solid performance and control without needing the stiffest, most demanding boot on the shelf. t.
If you're a narrow-footed expert skier chasing every last bit of precision, this probably isn't your boot — you'd want something with a tighter last and more aggressive forward lean. But for a big chunk of the guys we see coming through our doors looking for mens ski boots, this hits a sweet spot.
Tech That Matters
The standout feature is BOA H+i1 Single Pull closure, which replaces the fumbling of traditional buckles with a dial that lets you micro-adjust pressure across the entire foot with a simple turn. That matters practically in two ways: you can fine-tune exactly where pressure sits instead of being locked into a buckle's fixed increments, and you can make quick adjustments right at the lift without wrestling with cold, stiff hardware. Backing that up is a heat-moldable liner paired with Memory Fit shell technology, which lets a bootfitter heat-expand the shell to match your individual foot shape — an important step here, since even Atomic's widest last doesn't perfectly fit every wide foot without some customization. GripWalk grip pads round things out, improving traction and walkability without giving up power transfer to the ski.
Flex & Fit
The Magna 100X carries a 100 flex rating, which puts it in the medium-stiffness range — supportive enough for confident all-mountain skiing, but forgiving enough that it doesn't demand an aggressive, expert-level stance to drive it properly. Fit-wise, this is where the boot really sets itself apart: it's built on a 102mm last, the widest in Atomic's lineup, specifically designed to relieve the pressure points and numbness that plague wide-footed skiers in standard-width boots. Combined with the heat-moldable liner and Memory Fit shell, the fit isn't just wide out of the box — it can be further customized in-store to match the exact contours of your foot and ankle, so you get genuine comfort without sacrificing the shell's ability to hold your foot securely for real performance.
Why Willi's
We've been boot fitting in Pittsburgh since 1970, and heat molding liners is something we do every single day in-store — bring these in and we'll get the fit right. Our boot fitters know the difference between a shell that needs punching and one that just needs a better footbed, and we'll tell you honestly which one you're dealing with. That kind of fitting experience is hard to find, and it's been the core of what we do for over 50 years.
