The Binding

The Strive 12 is Armada's bread-and-butter binding for skiers who actually push things. Not a beginner binding. Not a heavy all metal binding. It sits right in that sweet spot for the intermediate-to-advanced skier who wants something that can take some minor abuse. DIN range runs 4-12, so it covers a wide spread of skier weights and aggression levels without overbuilding for the average weekend warrior.

What Sets It Apart

The low-profile chassis keeps your foot closer to the ski, and you'll feel that difference when the snow gets weird and you're trying to make quick edge corrections. The 3-piece heel is a nice step up from the 10 and allows to a greater amount of elasticity that this skier would want.

It works with both traditional ISO 5355 alpine soles and the newer Gripwalk soles. If you're already in a Gripwalk boot or thinking about making the switch, the Strive 12 is ready for it.

Brake widths come in 90mm and 100mm. Simple rule: match the brake to your ski's waist width, going up to the next size if you're right between options. Most All-Mountain and freeride skis in the 80-105ishmm waist range are covered between those two options.

Now, the honest part — this isn't the binding for you if you're a true expert charging technical big-mountain lines and you need a DIN setting closer to 10. The Strive 12 is built for skiers who are strong skiers but don't need a full-send competition setup.
