The Ski

The ARV 88 has been one of Armada's steadiest sellers for years — and honestly, it's not hard to see why. At 88mm underfoot, it sits right in that sweet spot where the ski is still very quick edge to edge all over the mountain while not being cumbersome inside the park. This ski is light and quick for swap and provides a ton of pop off takoffs.

Who It's For

If you're an intermediate pushing into advanced territory — or a solid advanced skier who doesn't need a super-specialized quiver — this is worth a hard look. This ski is for sure geared more toward a skier who wants to spend at least some time inside the park.

That said, if you spend most of your days in deep powder or you're a true expert who wants a ski that really responds to aggressive, precise input, this might feel a little too forgiving. And if you're a brand new beginner, you might find this a bit sluggish until your skill improves - don’t count this out though.

Tech That Matters

The ARV 88 runs a poplar wood core — lightweight without feeling noodly - tons of pop. Armada adds in an Ash binding insert for maximum strength and bindings retention - our techs love mounting these skis - very reliable. Throw in a durable and low maintenance S7 base with oversized 2.5 impact edges and you have a classic all-mtn freestlye ski built for the whole mountain.

The rocker profile is a pretty classic all-mountain twin setup: early rise tip, slight tail rocker, traditional camber underfoot. That means real edge grip when you need it and enough forgiveness in the tip to float through soft snow or initiate turns without getting caught. Whether you're lapping the trees off the side of North Face or cruising down through the park, the ski just works.

Sizing

The ARV 88 comes in 161, 166, 171, and 176cm. As a general guide: shorter lengths (161–166) suit lighter or shorter skiers and those who prefer a more playful, maneuverable feel. The 171 and 176 are better for taller, heavier, or more aggressive skiers who want more stability at speed. When in doubt, come in and talk to us — we'll put the right length under your feet.
