The Snowboard

The Metal Machine Decon is Arbor's answer to one specific question: what happens when you take a proven park destroyer and strip it back to its sharpest self? The result is a snappy, precise twin that doesn't waste energy on anything it doesn't need. If you've been riding a soft, forgiving board and you're ready to step up — this is the direction you go.

Who It's For

Intermediate-to-advanced riders who spend most of their time lapping the park hitting rails and hunting features in the trees. Riders who want a board that snaps off lips cleanly and holds an edge when they need it to — but doesn't punish them for getting playful. If you're shopping for snowboards and you mostly ride groomers top-to-bottom at Seven Springs without hitting a single feature, this probably isn't your board.

Tech That Matters

The "Decon" half means they've pulled weight out of the construction in smart places. Lighter swing weight makes a real difference when you're spinning or pressing — the board gets out of your way instead of fighting you. Combined with a true twin shape, it rides the same switch as it does regular, which matters if you're trying to clean up your park game. The Decon also goes with a tough extruded base an more simple Highland Core.

Arbor also uses bio-based resins and sustainably sourced wood cores across their lineup. It's not a gimmick — they've been doing it long enough that the process is dialed. Better for the wood, and honestly the cores just feel good underfoot.

Sizing

The 150 is where lighter, shorter riders land — also a solid choice if you ride a shorter twin intentionally for max maneuverability in the park. The 153 is the sweet spot for most average-height riders in the 140–175 lb range. The 156 is there for taller or heavier riders who still want that twin-tip feel without giving up too much stability at speed.

Don't overthink it. Come in and we'll sort it out in about five minutes.

Why Willi's

We've been fitting Pittsburgh riders into snowboards since 1970, and we actually ride the same hills you do — Seven Springs, Hidden Valley, the whole circuit. Bring the board in if you have questions about setup, bindings, or stance — our staff is on the snow, not just behind the counter.
