The Pants

The 686 Ghost™ 2.5L Pant is a shell pant with a story behind it. The Ghost goes back to '90s snowboard silhouettes — wide knee blocking, a loose team fit, a look that reads retro without trying too hard — but it's built on a legitimately waterproof 2.5-layer shell, not fashion fabric. The Navy Wide Wale Corduroy face is wide-wale polyester corduroy bonded to 686's infiDRY® 10K membrane, so you get that soft, ribbed texture and 10,000mm of waterproofing in the same pant.

It's a shell. No insulation inside, which means you layer underneath on cold days and strip down to a single base layer when it's warm and wet in the spring. That range is exactly why the Ghost gets worn so much.

What Sets It Apart

The infiDRY® 10K fabric is 686's own. The 2.5-layer construction bonds a protective print layer to the inside of the shell so there's no separate hanging liner rattling around — cleaner feel, lighter weight, and the waterproof membrane stays exactly where it's supposed to. PFAS-free DWR on the face sheds standing water before it has a chance to saturate the corduroy.

Fully taped Bemis® seams mean every stitched joint is sealed. You're dry through the seat, the knees, and the cuffs even if you spend the afternoon sitting in snow. The Air-Flo™ inner leg vents give you a way out when you're working hard and overheating — zip them open and you get airflow without pulling the pant off. The integrated webbing belt and buckle replace a bulky waistband, and the internal gripper elastic with a boot lace hook at the bottom hem keeps the cuff locked over your boot.

There's a lift ticket eyelet on a belt loop, a key clip inside the front hand pocket, and two external pockets total. Not a lot of storage, so if you carry a lot of kit you'll want a jacket with real pocket depth. That's the honest trade-off on a pant built this light.

Compatibility

The Ghost is a loose fit. It layers comfortably over midweight fleece or a soft-shell pant liner on cold days. The elastic cuffs fit cleanly over most snowboard boots and ski boots. Bring your base layers in and we'll check the stack — stop by any of our three locations and we'll sort it out.
