The Snowboard Binding
The Hemlock is Arbor's answer to riders who spend more time hunting park features and side hits than charging groomers. It's a soft-to-medium flex binding - intentionally so. That give in the flex lets you butter, press, and play without fighting your gear every time you want to get creative. But don't mistake soft for sloppy. The Hemlock 2 asymmetrical highback keeps response dialed right where you need it, so you're not swimming around when you actually need to set an edge.
This is the kind of binding that just gets out of the way and lets you ride.
What Sets It Apart
The baseplate here is 15% fiberglass-infused - lighter than full aluminum, with enough stiffness to keep energy transfer honest. And the asymmetrical highback isn't just a style call. The shape follows your leg's natural rotation, so heel-side turns feel more intuitive and less like you're fighting geometry. That's a real difference you'll feel after a full day lapping the terrain parks at Seven Springs.
The adjustable heel cup means you're not stuck hoping your boot fits the mold - you dial it in. The BioStrap ankle strap is plant-based material, which is part of Arbor's broader sustainability push, and it wraps your boot without hotspots. Aluminum ratchets throughout, tool-less forward lean adjustment, and a 2x4 mini-disc system rounding things out.
One honest trade-off: if you're a bigger, heavier rider who charges hard groomers or likes a stiff, locked-in feel, the Hemlock probably isn't your binding. It's tuned for freedom of movement, not maximum power transmission. Pair it with a snowboard that matches that playful intent and you'll be in good shape.
Compatibility
The Hemlock runs on a 2x4 mini-disc system, so it'll mount to the vast majority of boards out there. The adjustable heel cup handles most boot sizes, but we'd still recommend bringing your boots in - or at least knowing your boot's size - before you finalize your setup.
Sizing runs Small through Large. If you're between sizes, size up. A slightly larger binding with the heel cup dialed in beats a too-tight fit every time.
