The Jacket

The Volcom 2836 Insulated Jacket is a baggy-fit, lightly insulated snow jacket built around a V-Science 2-Layer shell with a 20,000mm / 20,000gm² waterproof-breathable rating and a Non-Fluorinated DWR finish. That's a 20K shell. Sixty grams of recycled insulation keeps you warm through a full day without turning this into a puffer — you're not sweating on a bluebird lap, and you're not shivering when the clouds roll in. The camo colorway is sharp. Zip-Tech® lets you connect the jacket to compatible Volcom pants, cutting off any gap at the waist when you need it.

Who It's For

Riders who want a clean, functional snow jacket that doesn't look out of place off the mountain. The baggy "91 Fit" gives you room over a mid-layer without going full-parachute. This is a one-season-does-everything jacket for the intermediate-to-advanced snowboarder or skier who runs warm and doesn't need 200g of fill. If you need something to handle serious cold all day, size up or layer heavier underneath.

Tech That Matters

The V-Science 2-Layer construction tapes the critical seams so water stays out where the jacket takes the most abuse. The removable hood cinches down, and an adjustable powder skirt seals the bottom. The V-Science Cuff System locks out snow at the glove. A specialty ticket ring clips your pass without a dangling lanyard. Brushed tricot-lined handwarmer pockets and a super suede chin guard round it out.

Sizing

The 2836 runs true to Volcom's baggy "91 Fit" — relaxed through the chest with a drop shoulder and slightly shorter hem. It's cut to wear with a mid-layer underneath, so if you're right on the edge between two sizes, go with your regular size. A skier or rider who runs a heavier base layer setup may want to size up once.
