The Piece

The Peak Performance Helium Down Jacket has been one of their best sellers for over a decade, and it's easy to see why. It's 700-fill-power 90/10 duck down in a lightweight recycled polyamide ripstop shell — genuinely packable, wind resistant, and finished with a PFC-free DWR treatment that sheds light snow and drizzle. Wear it solo on a cold, dry day or stuff it under a shell when the temperature really drops. It packs into its own left-hand pocket, which makes it easy to toss in a bag and forget about until you need it.

What We Like

The quilted Helium pattern is clean and it actually does a job: it distributes the down evenly so you don't end up with cold spots across the chest. Stand-up collar keeps the draft off your neck. Chin guard on the zipper stops that familiar bite at the top of the zip. Two zippered hand pockets. Elastic hem and cuffs lock in warmth without feeling restrictive. It's a hip-length cut with a regular fit — enough room to layer a mid-layer underneath without going boxy when you're wearing it alone.
