The Ski
The M-Cross W 82 is Dynastar's women's groomer ski for 2027, an 82mm waist built to stay on edge on packed snow and carve clean lines without a lot of drama. This is a ski for someone who spends most of her day on-piste and wants a partner that turns easily rather than one that has to be muscled into a shape. However, should you feel the want (or need) to push it a bit, it will stay composed and quiet.
Who It's For
This ski is built for intermediate to advanced women skiers who like groomed runs, corduroy, and the occasional soft cut through the trees on the side of the trail. At 82mm underfoot it's narrow enough to grip firm snow hard and quick enough edge-to-edge for shorter, snappier turns on a blue or black groomer. It's not a ski for deep days - if you're chasing fresh snow off the sides of the trail on a regular basis, you'll want something wider underfoot. But for someone who wants a ski that holds an edge, turns when you ask it to, and doesn't feel like a handful at speed, this is squarely in the zone.
Tech That Matters
The foundation is Dynastar's Hybrid Core 2.0, a poplar wood core layered in three directions and combined with polyurethane — this construction cuts down on the amount of glued fiberglass needed, which lowers the environmental footprint while still giving the ski a damp, quiet, and energetic feel underfoot.
A noticeably wide shovel paired with a much narrower tail creates a pin-tail-style shape, and that's what makes this ski so easy to whip through short-to-medium turns: the wide tip helps the ski initiate a turn with very little effort, while the narrower tail lets it release smoothly out of the back end of a turn instead of hooking or catching.
A rocker/camber/rocker profile blends a long camber underfoot — which is what delivers the ski's edge grip and stable, planted feel — with just enough tip and tail rise to keep things smooth when snow gets a little chewed up or variable.
Layered above the core, unidirectional fiberglass and an H-Tech reinforcement add power and stability through the middle of the ski, keeping the tip and tail planted and ready for the next turn rather than chattering at speed.
Rounding things out, the included Xpress 11 GripWalk binding is an ultralight, integrated system while still giving reliable retention and compatibility with both standard alpine and GripWalk boot soles.
Sizing
Stand this ski up next to you and, for most skiers on this model, you'll want it landing somewhere around nose height if you're skiing at an intermediate pace, and a bit higher if you're pushing into more advanced terrain and speed. A skier who likes to go fast and carve hard should size up toward the longer of the two lengths we carry. If you're newer to the sport or still building confidence at speed, the shorter length will feel more manageable and easier to pivot.
