Giro Tor Spherical Helmet 2027

The Helmet

The Tor Spherical is Giro's answer for skiers and riders who want top-shelf Head protection and don't mind paying for it. It sits at the upper end of our helmets wall, but the build backs it up. This is an all-mountain helmet, meant for groomer laps, a chairlift ride in the wind, and everything in between on a firm Saturday morning when the snow's set up hard and you want gear that's actually doing its job.

Giro built this one for skiers who log real days on the hill, not just a helmet for the closet shelf.

What Sets It Apart

The big feature here is Spherical Technology powered by Mips. Instead of the usual Mips liner, Giro built the shell itself as two independent layers in a ball-and-socket setup that lets the outer shell move slightly against the inner on impact, spreading rotational force away from your Head. It's a different way to get to the same goal - less brain injury risk in an angled hit, which is the kind of impact you're more likely to actually take on snow.

The shell itself is a hybrid build: a durable, ventilated hard shell up top paired with a lighter in-mold lower and sidewalls. You get the strength where you need it most and less weight everywhere else. Venting is handled by Thermostat Control, so you can crack the vents open on a warm spring day or shut them down when it's blowing snow sideways, backed up by Stack Vent technology to keep air moving through without letting cold air just funnel straight onto your scalp.

Fit-wise, the In Form 2 system gives you up to 6cm of adjustment with vertical tuning, so the helmet sits right against your goggles instead of leaving that gap where wind and snow sneak in. Inside, a Wikpro Grid Fleece lining keeps things breathable against your Head, and the Fidlock magnetic buckle clicks shut with one hand, gloves on, no fumbling at the chairlift.

Fit & Safety

We've got this one in Medium and Large. Try it on with the goggles you actually wear before you buy - that's the fastest way to know if the In Form 2 adjustment is going to close the gap for you or not.

One honest note: this is a premium helmet at a premium price, and if you're a once-or-twice-a-season skier, there are lighter-weight options on our wall that'll do the job for less money. The Tor Spherical earns its price if you're putting in full days, week after week, and want the extra rotational protection that comes with the Spherical build.
