Giro Jackson MIPS Helmet 2027

The Goggle

The Giro Jackson MIPS Helmet 2027 is built low and light, made for skiers who spend their day moving between groomers, side hits, and freeride lines. It sits close to the Head instead of ballooning out the way a lot of budget helmets do, so it looks right under a modern goggle and doesn't feel like you're wearing a bucket. Browse the rest of our helmets if you want to compare shapes before you decide - fit is personal, and one brand's "low profile" isn't always another's.

What Sets It Apart

MIPS is the Headline feature here - a slip-plane liner inside the shell that lets the helmet shift slightly on impact, cutting down the rotational force that reaches your Head in an angled fall. That's the kind of hit you actually take on snow, not a straight-on collision, so it's the protection that matters most for real crashes.

Giro's Passive Aggressive Venting handles temperature without a manual switch. It opens up when you're working hard and pushing air through the shell, and closes back down when you slow up or stop moving, so you're not fiddling with vents at the top of the lift line. Vertical Tuning closes the gap that shows up between helmet and goggle when you tip your head forward, and Stack Vent Tech lines the top vents up with goggle intake so your lens stays clear instead of fogging over on a stop-and-go park lap. Run tunes on the hill? The shell accepts Outdoor Tech's audio chips - buy those separately and drop them in whenever you're ready.

Fit & Safety

The In Form 2 fit system uses a low-profile dial at the back of the head, good for up to 6cm of adjustment, so you can snug it down over a thin liner hat or loosen it for something thicker on a cold Pittsburgh morning. We carry this one in Medium and Large - bring your head in and we'll measure it. One thing worth knowing: the vents aren't adjustable by hand, so on a bitter day you're relying on the auto-regulation to close things down rather than shutting a vent yourself.

Why Willis

We've been fitting Pittsburgh-area skiers since 1970, and helmet fit is one of those things that's tough to nail from a size chart alone. Stop into any of our three locations and one of our staff will get you in the right size, check it against your goggle, and walk you through the MIPS and venting setup before you buy.
