This is one of Smith's newer, lighter helmets designed with a hybrid, Aerocore construction and honeycomb-shaped Koroyd inserts to increase levels of protection while minimizing weight. The hybrid construction combines tough ABS with flyweight in-mold technology for a light, protective, fit. The impact-absorbing shell is backed by MIPS technology to reduce rotational forces in the case of an oblique impact. AirEvac switches twenty vents open and close to customize airflow on any given wintry day, and the XT2 performance liner has antibacterial properties to reduce odor.
