The Binding

The Salomon Strive 10 GW is the entry point into the Strive family. It's built around a low-profile chassis that drops your center of gravity, putting you closer to the snow and letting you actually feel what's happening underfoot. For a skier who's still building their mountain vocabulary, that feedback matters. It also accepts both standard Alpine (ISO 5355) and GripWalk (ISO 23223) boot soles, so if your boots have a rockered GripWalk sole for easier walking, you don't need a different binding.

The DIN range runs 3 to 10. That's the right window for lighter adults, developing intermediates, and anyone who skis a few times a season and wants a binding that releases predictably without being so stiff it fights them. If you're an aggressive intermediate or a heavier skier who pushes hard, step up to the Strive 12.

What Sets It Apart

Salomon's LDN Toe — Low, Direct, Neutral — is the part of this binding that gets talked about most. The toe piece sits exceptionally low to the ski, which shortens the lever arm between your boot and the snow. You feel the terrain sooner and your edges respond a little quicker. It's a genuine difference on groomed runs, not just a marketing angle.

The extra-wide toe pedal (over 60mm) spreads lateral load across more of the boot sole. That improves power transfer when you're driving into a turn. And the sliding toe pedal is mounted on a spring, so it can move laterally and re-center — which helps the binding release cleanly in an off-axis fall rather than holding on when it shouldn't.

The Monobloc heel merges the jaw and the lever into one piece. Fewer parts means lighter weight, and it's genuinely easy to step into. The GripWalk step-in geometry handles both sole types without any adjustment on your end.

Compatibility

The Strive 10 GW works with Adult Alpine (ISO 5355) and Adult GripWalk (ISO 23223) boot soles. The brake width stocked here is 90mm. Mount pattern and brake fit depend on the ski it's going on. Bring your boots and your skis into any of our three locations and we'll make sure everything mounts up correctly before you leave.

Features

  • LDN Toe: This revolutionary toe piece boasts an ultra-low center of gravity highlighted by an extra-wide pedal and neutral stance, so skiers can feel the pure sensations of all terrain.
  • Extra-wide Toe Pedal (>60mm): A super-wide pedal that ensures the best lateral power transmission from skier to ski.
  • Sliding AFD: A specific pedal mounted on a spring that allows lateral movements and re-centering. It allows any normed boot to release out of the binding in case of a lateral fall.
  • XL Wings: Long wings that envelop the tip of the boot perfectly in order to provide increased power transmission.
  • Elastic Travel: The ultimate elastic travel on the wings. It holds the boot back when faced with bigger shocks and minimizes the risk of pre-release.
  • Automatic Wing & Toe Adjustment: No adjustments needed to adapt the wings and toe-height to your boots. Just step in and ski.
  • Monobloc Heel: Merges the jaw and lever into one piece for a low-weight construction that is very convenient to use.
  • Low Profile Chassis: Low stand height improves your feel for the terrain and enhances power transmission to the ski.
  • Glass-Fiber PA: A dedicated polyamide reinforced with fiberglass — lighter, durable, and with more tolerance on skis.
  • GripWalk – Adult: Automatically adjusts to both Alpine and GripWalk boots for walking comfort without compromising power transmission and precise binding release.
  • TÜV Certified: Binding tested and certified by the TÜV safety monitoring agency.
  • DIN Range: 3–10
  • Boot Sole Compatibility: Alpine ISO 5355, GripWalk ISO 23223
  • Skier Weight Range: 68.3–220.5 lbs
  • Weight per Unit: 2 lb
