The Ski
The Salomon QST 94 has been one of the most popular skis we carry, and the 2027 version is sure to impress. It's a 94mm-waist freeride ski that earns every minute of its frontside time, too. Tip rocker helps it float and release, the 64% cambered midsection gives you a long, engaged edge on groomers, and a subtle 16% tail rocker lets the back end step out when you want it to instead of locking up. That's not a recipe for a specialist ski. It's a ski that covers a lot of ground without feeling like a compromise in any direction.
Who it's For
Intermediate to advanced skiers who want one ski for most of what the mountain offers. At 94mm underfoot, you're quick edge to edge on hard snow, and the tip rocker gives you enough float that a soft-snow day won't leave you fighting. The mid-stiff flex rewards a skier who's willing to press into turns — if you're still learning to drive a ski, this isn't it. But if you're skiing parallel confidently and looking to push into faster, more aggressive territory, the QST 94 is a smart step up. Riders who spend most of their time chasing groomed corduroy on a narrower ski will find 94mm a good bit wider than expected; for those skiers, the Salomon Stance line is worth a look. This one suits the skier who wants room to roam.
Tech that Matters
Full Poplar Woodcore. A full-length poplar core keeps the ski lively without adding dead weight. It flexes naturally through the whole ski and transfers energy well when you push into it.
Cork Damplifier. Cork inserts in both the tip and tail absorb vibration at the points where chattery snow hits first. The result is a calmer ride at speed without dulling the ski's response underfoot — where the camber and sidewalls are doing the real work.
Ti Binding Reinforcement. A titanal insert runs edge to edge underfoot. It stiffens the platform right where your binding sits, which means more of your input actually reaches the snow instead of flexing out through the ski body.
Basalt Superlight Fibers + Fiberglass. These run the full length of the ski alongside the poplar core. Basalt adds dampening and structural integrity without the weight of metal laminates.
Full Sandwich Sidewalls. Edge-to-edge sidewall construction improves precision and snow contact. On firmer snow where edge grip matters, the difference is real.
Freeride Profile (20/64/16). Rocker-Camber-Rocker with a wider tip than tail. The asymmetry is intentional — more float on the way in, more precision and release on the way out.
Sintered Base. Holds wax well and runs fast. Bring it in for a tune before the season and you'll notice.
