The HF 100 fits a skier who wants a boot that feels good from first chair to last, not one that needs babying to get into shape. A 100 flex is medium territory - supportive enough to hold an edge on a groomer, forgiving enough that it won't punish you for sitting back on a tired afternoon. It suits intermediate skiers moving up, and advancing recreational skiers who log a lot of days and want their feet to still feel good on day three. Aggressive skiers chasing max energy transfer at speed will want a stiffer, narrower race-oriented boot instead - that's just not what this one is built to do.

Flex & Fit

A 100 flex reads different depending on your weight and style, but here it's tuned toward all-day comfort over stiff, locked-in precision. Combined with the 102mm last, the fit runs roomy rather than snug - good news for wider feet, something to know if you've got a narrow foot and are used to sizing down hard. The Instep Volume Control plate on the bootboard lets us dial the instep tighter or looser without swapping liners or shells, which matters a lot on a rear-entry boot where you don't have four buckles to fine-tune fit the way an overlap boot allows. That's the trade-off with rear-entry design in general - fewer adjustment points, but way less fuss getting in and out.

Tech That Matters

The rear buckle and 40-degree shell opening are what make step-in entry actually work, and the IVC plate is what keeps the fit from feeling generic once you're in. The Double Axis Pivot is the piece doing the quiet work on snow - it's what keeps a hands-free boot from feeling sloppy when you're pushing into a turn on firmer snow. It's comfort engineering, and it does its job well.
