The Binding
The Strive 14 GW is Armada's workhorse binding — and we mean that as a straight-up compliment. DIN range tops out at 14, which puts this squarely in the aggressive intermediate to expert camp. If you're charging groomers you want a binding that transmits every edge movement without slop. This one does that.
What Sets It Apart
The toe piece sits low — genuinely low — which shortens the lever arm between your boot and the ski. Less height means more direct power transfer. You feel it immediately on a carved turn. And the 3 piece heel has 45mm of elastic travel, which is a lot. That elasticity absorbs the kind of chatter and deflection you get on variable terrain without pre-releasing on you. The heel mounting plate is also wider than its younger brother (Strive 12).
But here's the honest trade-off: this isn't a light binding. It's built to be tough and functional over flashy-light. The skier who just wants a binding that handles hard skiing and holds up season after season — the Strive 14 GW is a really solid pick.
Compatibility
The GW in the name matters. This binding runs GripWalk-compatible, meaning it works with both traditional Alpine Adult boots (ISO 5355, Type A) and GripWalk-soled boots (ISO 9523).
Brake widths come in 90mm and 100mm. Most all-mountain and carving skis in the 80–100mm waist range will pair fine. Go wider than that and you'll want to look at a brake upgrade or a different binding platform altogether.
One thing worth noting: always get your bindings mounted and DIN set by a certified technician. We do this in-shop — it's not optional, it's a safety thing, and it protects you if anything ever goes sideways on the hill.
Why Willi's
