The Ski

The 2027 Armada ARW 84 is a durable, entry-level all-mountain twin tip designed to give women who are new to freestyle skiing the tools they need to progress anywhere on the mountain. Light, forgiving, and built to shrug off hard landings, it's a go-to ski for anyone stepping into the park for the first time or just looking for a playful ride that keeps things fun without feeling demanding.

Who It's For

This ski is aimed at beginner to intermediate women skiers with freestyle goals, or really anyone who wants a light, approachable ski that's easy to throw around. It's especially well-suited to riders who are still building confidence and skill — the catch-free, buttery flex makes learning new tricks (or simply linking smoother turns) feel a lot less intimidating. It's not meant to be a high-speed charger or a powder-specific tool; it shines in the terrain park and on everyday all-mountain groomers. Women coming off rentals or a first-year ski will find it forgiving. Women who already have a few seasons in and want something with a little more intention under their feet will appreciate the 84mm platform as a genuine step up.

Tech That Matters

At the core of the ARW 84 is a Hybrid Poplar/Composite core, which combines the natural liveliness and dampening of wood with lightweight composite material to keep the ski energetic without adding unnecessary weight — a big deal for newer or lighter riders who need a ski that's easy to move and maneuver. Armada's AR Freestyle Rocker profile pairs rockered tip and tail with positive camber underfoot, delivering a catch-free, forgiving ride in variable snow while still holding a solid edge when carving on firmer terrain. For durability, the ski uses a 2.5 Impact Edge (an oversized, heat-treated edge built to resist damage from rails and hard landings) alongside an S7 sintered base for reliable glide and low maintenance. Rounding it out, AR50 sidewall construction blends true sidewall underfoot with cap construction in the tip and tail, giving a solid mix of edge grip and a lighter swing weight that makes spins and jibs easier to pull off.

One honest note: the ARW 84 is a ski for someone building their skiing, not someone who's already there. If you're an expert or even a strong advanced skier who pushes hard, you'll likely outski it by mid-season.

Sizing

The ARW 84 comes in 143, 150, and 157cm. As a softer-flexing all-mountain ski, we size it on the shorter end of the range. Most intermediate women will want a ski that comes up somewhere around their nose height — that's roughly your height in centimeters, minus five to ten centimeters depending on your current ability and how much control you want.
