Description
Description
The Rome 390 Boss HW is one of those bindings that stays in the lineup year after year for a reason. Riders keep coming back to it. For 2026, Rome kept the HeelWrap chassis th
at made the 390 Boss a shop staple and layered in their new Kink Straps and the full AuxTech® strap package. The result is a medium-flex binding — Rome rates it a 5 out of 10 — that's soft enough to press and tweak but dialed enough to hold an edge when you want it to.
Who It's For
This is a binding for intermediate to advanced riders who want to ride everything without overthinking their setup. The 5/10 flex keeps things playful: butters come easy, grabs don't fight you, and a lap through the park feels natural. But it's not a noodle. The HeelWrap platform still gives you enough pop and response to get down a groomed run with authority. If you're riding mostly on softer boards and want a binding that goes with the flow rather than fights it, this is a good match. Riders who prefer a stiffer, more aggressive setup — think race-influenced carving or heavily leveraged big-mountain riding — will want to look at something with a higher flex rating.
Size M/L covers roughly US Men's 7.5–10. L/XL runs US Men's 10–13. Bring your boots in and we'll dial the fit at any of our three locations.
Tech That Matters
The HeelWrap platform is what separates this binding from the FullWrap versions of the 390 Boss. Two connection points between the aluminum heelhoop and the baseplate lets the board flex more naturally underfoot. You get better board feel in softer snow and more chatter absorption on firmer days — the trade-off is a touch less raw power transfer compared to a four-point chassis. For most riders in most conditions, that's the right trade.
New for 2026, Kink Straps give you two ankle strap positions. Ride the strap up for a more locked-in feel, or drop it low when you want a looser, more surfy ride. The UltraFlex Pro Ankle Strap runs AuxTech® — Rome's auxetic pattern design, a network of geometric hinges that expand evenly under pressure for even load distribution across your boot. Less hot spots, better hold. The ProGrip Toe Strap uses the same AuxTech® tech in a one-piece design. BombProof buckles round it out — they ratchet clean and hold up to a full season of daily abuse.
The G Baseplate is built with 15% glass reinforcement, keeping weight reasonable without going soft.
Sizing
The 390 Boss HW comes in two sizes. M/L fits most riders with a US Men's boot in the 7.5–10 range. L/XL is for US Men's 10 and up through 13. If you're right on the border between sizes, boot shape and board width can both matter — stop in and we'll sort it out.
Why Willi's
We've been fitting riders into bindings since 1970, and we still do it the same way: boots on, board in hand, check the fit in person. Stop in at any of our three locations and our staff will make sure your stance, centering, and strap tension are all set before you walk out the door.
