It's an insulated parka built for actual days on the hill - not a fashion piece that happens to have a hood.
It keeps the classic Alphelia silhouette - fitted through the waist, a little longer in the back. If you've owned an older Alphelia, this one will feel familiar. If you haven't, think of it as a warm mid-length parka that's cut for skiing first and everything else second.

What We Like

The adjustable powder skirt does its job without adding bulk, and it's easy to unclip if you're skiing warm resort laps and don't need it cinched down. The ski pass pocket on the sleeve means you're not digging through your jacket at the lift every single run - small thing, but it matters after the fifth time. Underarm vents let you dump heat fast when you're working harder than expected, whether that's a hike for a side stash or just a warm bluebird afternoon. We also like that there's a real inside stash pocket plus a zippered inner chest pocket - phone in one, car key in the other, and you're not patting yourself down at the bottom of the lift.

Tech That Matters

Helly Tech Professional handles the weatherproofing side - fully seam sealed construction with a Durable Water Repellency treatment on the face fabric, so wet snow beads up and rolls off instead of soaking in. LIFALOFT insulation is the reason this jacket runs warm without running heavy - it's designed to keep working even if it gets a little damp, which matters on a day when you're sweating on the way up and cooling off on the chair down. H2FLOW AIR FORCE VENTILATION works with the underarm zips and back yoke venting to move heat out actively instead of just trapping it until you unzip everything.

The fabric has 4-way stretch, so the articulated sleeves actually move with you when you're planting a pole or reaching for a zipper mid-run. Cuffs adjust with a fastener and have thumbholes built into the liner - good for layering under a glove without the sleeve riding up. There's also a Life Pocket+ built in, a small dedicated compartment made to help a phone hold its charge in cold weather, which is a nice detail if you're out most of the day and need your phone alive for photos or a ride home.

Fit & Sizing

This runs true to Helly Hansen's usual women's cut - fitted through the body, room through the shoulders for a midlayer, and a hem that sits below the hip for extra coverage on the chairlift.

Why Willis

We've been fitting Pittsburgh skiers since 1970, and jackets are one of those things that really do fit better with a second pair of eyes in the room. Come try the Alphelia on at South Hills, North Hills, or our shop at Seven Springs, and we'll help you figure out sizing, layering, and whether this is the right jacket for how you actually ski.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0621/6001/1469/files/Helly_Hansen_Alphelia_Lifaloft_Womens_Jacket_2027-0-H.webp?v=1793586653
