The Ripstick 88 W is the ski that makes everyone who steps into it feel like a stronger skier — turns initiate smoothly and effortlessly, edge grip stays confident on harder snow, and the whole experience feels effortless in and out of every turn. It's the bridge between frontside precision and freeride confidence, ready to go anywhere on the mountain without asking you to compromise. It doesn't feel like a ski you're managing - it feels like a ski that's working with you. If you're browsing womens ski packages and want something you can actually grow into, this one belongs on the short list.

Who It's For

The Ripstick 88 W is built for women skiers of a wide range of ability levels who want an approachable, versatile ski that makes turning easier and speeds up their progression. It's a true all-mountain ski, equally confident carving groomers, handling variable end-of-day crud, or venturing into more adventurous, off-piste terrain when the mood strikes. It's not the pick for someone chasing the most powerful, high-speed-capable option, and skiers who prioritize soft snow and deep powder performance should look toward something wider — this ski's sweet spot is frontside performance with just enough maneuverability to explore beyond it.

It suits a woman who is past the beginner stage and ready to stop fighting her gear. If you're taking your skiing seriously and putting real days in, this is the level of ski that will keep up with you.

Tech That Matters

The Ripstick 88 W uses Elan's Amphibio rocker profile - a subtle but effective asymmetric design where the inside and outside edges have different amounts of camber. The result is an initiation that feels quick and forgiving rather than grabby.

The construction incorporates Elan's carbon and wood laminate layup, which keeps the swing weight low without sacrificing torsional stiffness. You get a ski that's easy to throw around but doesn't wash out when you push it. And the sintered base holds wax well and runs fast - worth knowing if you're putting serious days on it.

Sizing

The Ripstick 88 W comes in 147, 154, and 161cm. Most skiers in this range should be looking at about lip to brow in height. When in doubt, come in and stand next to them - that five minutes with one of us is worth more than any chart.

Why Willi's

We've been fitting Pittsburgh skiers since 1970, and we know these skis well - we ski them ourselves.
